State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu announced yesterday that Safaricom Indoor Arena at Kasarani will play host to the leader of the free world on Sunday. No further details were given, but the government should be giving more information in coming days.
It seems this is a well thought out decision considering the venue has a much bigger sitting capacity than say University of Nairobi’s Taifa Hall. It is not clear whether the speech will be free for all to attend, but some reports have it that a list of 10,000 ‘delegates’ has already been drawn up.
It was also confirmed that Obama will hold bilateral talks with Uhuru on Saturday, after co-hosting the the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at UN complex Gigiri. The two will then address a joint press conference at State House.
