The two worst English compositions in the 2014 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examinations have been revealed. According to Nairobi News the decision to reveal the compositions is part of a campaign to rid Kenyan schools of mediocrity.
If these compositions are anything to go by, that campaign has a long way to go.
From the poorest composition, the candidate simply rephrased the examiner’s intro and continued to interchange the words all through. The candidate scored a measly four marks.

In the second poorest composition, the candidate had at least a hint of what was expected but his/her command of the language was a total disaster. The composition is packed with grammatical errors, incoherence, poor sentence structure and misspellings.
